MZ-521 Wireless Module
Information Description
The traditional sensors which used in the SCADA applications spread wide in the field. And they exhibit various sensing capabilities from mechanical motion (open/close, movement, vibration, … etc.), visual detection, to gas sensing.
The purpose of the MZ521 is to provide the developers an easy adaption in the sensor devices and in the meanwhile keep a low power consumption to allow for battery operated environment.
To facilitate these traditional wired sensors upgraded to be wireless, MZ521 helps in the integration of the wired sensors with a simple I/O interface provided.
2. Specifications
MZ521
Small form factor, 25 x 25 mm2 PCBA package.
8-pin connector provided
Low current consumption under 10μA when device is idle.
Various kinds of voltage input options
Device Overview:
The design of the MZ521 is based on the US-T28 transceiver module with a special carrier board designed to suit for these sensor applications. They are mounted back to back together to keep in a small form factor.
An 8-pin connector at the solder side of the MZ521 board is shown below. This connector is designed for easy connection to other external device which provides power and signals to the MZ521 module.
The U521 provides a LDO component for higher voltage input devices (Picture 1.2), if the target sensor is able to give +3V DC to the U521 module, the LDO can be bypassed, or removed by shorting the input and output points (block R13) as depicted in picture 1.2 and picture 1.3.
DC Characteristics
Vee=0V, TA = 25oC, VCC= 3.3V unless otherwise specified
